Just found out that I’ve been cast in a 24-Theatre Project at the Avery Schreiber Theatre in North Hollywood. It is being written as I am typing this and will “premiere” tomorrow night at 8pm. Early to bed for me – I’m called to the theater at 9am sharp and will be rehearsing/cram-memorizing all day. After I post this I’ll be scouting the location of a Goodwill near the theatre – in these things you tend to end up supplying your own costume a lot of the time, and I don’t want to use my good clothes. Don’t contribute anything to a show you can’t afford to see wrecked; because yada yada The Magic of Live Theatre…

I’ve done a fair few of these sprint shows by now. My first one was in college – I was awake for 30 hours straight and hallucinating by the end, so every one since then has been chill by comparison. This is my second this year, and both times I’ve been in as an actor rather than a writer or director, and I find that of the three tasks, this is by far the least stress and the most fun. That might seem strange to outsiders, but you really don’t fear embarrassment in a scenario like this. Everyone just kind of accepts that whatever craziness happens is part of the ride.

I wonder if Wheaties help memorization skills….
