I just got informed that my 10-Minute Play “The Jersey Kid” will be produced in Sherman Oaks at the Whitefire Theatre as part of their Summer Shorts showcase this July. I love it when a script of mine gets on-stage – I love it more when it’s at a venue where I can go see it.

This will be the first professional staging of The Jersey Kid, a piece I’ve always been proud of. Some friends of mine did a pretty hilarious living room reading of it, and I saw a student workshop production at my alma mater, but that was essentially a classroom setting for student directors; this should have the chance to be a little more fully-realized.

I recently wrote a pair of new 10-minute plays, one for that 24-Hour Theatre showcase and another just for the heck of it; and I have a 30-40-minute one-act in-process that I would love to finish a draft of in the near future. That all had me thinking that I should gear up another round of play submissions soon; the last push I made (which included the Whitefire submission) was back in November.

Go get ’em, Jersey Kid!
