I have wandered downtown Chicago on countless occasions, and as I gain experience in taking pictures I want to get beyond the “ooh, pretty!” impulse, and try to articulate a specific creative intent that could unify a series of pictures. I will make a separate gallery for some more standard tourist shots, but for what it’s worth, here’s what I came back with from this most recent trip – a series examining the juxtaposition of state and style in Chicago’s amazing downtown architecture, trying to crop out the noise of human life and consider the evolving interaction of all these great things we build.
