I originally set out for this story to be about 5,000 words long, but it kept on growing as I put in all the ideas I wanted to include. I have birthed a novelette. Going to sit on it for a few days and then share it with a few friends. Then I’ve got to figure out what to do with it – not a lot of outlets in the lit journal world for bizarro novelettes.
And then, of course, it’s on to the next thing demanding to be written. The board is never empty.
