Just for reference, for the next time I’m wondering how long it’s been since the last damned time I finished a screenplay…
I finished a screenplay today.
Phew. Wow. That was a long time coming. Even after I typed “FADE OUT”, I was still futzing with the last lines of dialogue, like I wasn’t sure I could actually let it be done.
It’s 128 pages. Celtx formats scripts slightly differently from Final Draft, and I think that tends to plump the page count by 4-5 pages; still, that’s far too much for a comedy. There’s going to have to be some deep cutting before I can give this thing a coming-out party.
But it’s there. It has a beginning, middle, and end. It’s on (virtual) paper, which is immeasurably better than existing only in my brain.
Time to celebrate.
