I have wandered downtown Chicago on countless occasions, and as I gain experience in taking pictures I wanted to get beyond the “ooh, pretty!” impulse, and try to articulate a specific creative intent that could unify a series of pictures. For what it's worth, here's what I came back with – examining the juxtaposition of state and style in Chicago's amazing downtown architecture, trying to crop out the noise of human life and consider the evolving interaction of all these great things we build.
